Exclamation PLEASE HELP!!!

I own an E30 318i Coupe. And i know ur gonna think im mad, but i want those gorgeous fat guards that are on the M3 of the same vintage. Where can i get some fibreglass replicas or something? I cant afford a proper M3 right now, so the 318i is getting the TLC its been needing. A friend of mine does fibreglass, would the rears be hard to mould?? I'm seeking advice from those who know BMW better than the dealerships thanks heaps

My 2 cents

Um are you being bit too ambitious there?
how bout a whole m-tech2 kit until you can afford the M3?
(not that i'm selling mine) I think you can still get the whole kit for about 5k(which i'd be putting into the M3 anyway) which would be MUCH cheaper and just get your guards rolled by a proper body modifier.

i may be a bit ambitious, but someone has to do somethin crazy once in a while. i can afford the m3, but none are suitable at this stage - or the right colour for what i want. I'm in Bathurst, so there arent many modifiers round here. the closest would be sydney and would it be worth the trip?? Or do i just DIY it. dads an ex-panelbeater, so if he cant do it im not trustin any1 else to.

ur prob going to have to somehow find a mould from the m3... or find out the dimensions of the widen kit and make ur own kit.... going to be tough but will look good.

yeh, if i can get the dimensions, a friend of mine can do them up in fibreglass or carbon fibre, whatever i want. yeh it will be a tough job to do the rears, the front ones im trying to find a wrecker that may hav an m3 there. so far iv found a few, but all front end damage and the guards arent worth saving. the rears id have to graft onto it. i really dont want to be cutting pieces from the body, the car is totally rust free anyway.

if ur lucky u can just take the front panels off and put the new kit on. wont be cutting anything off. if cutting is a worry make sure u treat it proper so no water and air can reach the surface.
let us know how it comes along...... will be interesting mod to see if it works...... im sure others have thought about it and u could even start selling kits once u make a mould.

They do make them ...there is a guy in perth that is making some up...the whole kit is about 2-2.5k made from fibre glass... i asked for carbon fibre and he said if i could get the numbers theyd put together a deal....

yeh i was considering buying a new car, but i just love my little black baby too much to get rid of it. yeh iv bookmarked the company making them, it was $2950 i think for the entire kit and $450 for the wing. but im in-between jobs atm, so cash is a bit tight. and i lose my licence on the 23rd, and now its back to a standard engine. damn those highway patrol cars!! haha so now its in pieces in the shed, looking very sad and sorry, cause dad and i are painting it. Does anyone know where to get the plastic bumper covers from????? god only knows why, but when i got it, the car had blue ones on :S go figure. And i would also like to know where to get some nice wheels with a s*@$*% load of dish for the beasty :P Just to give it a good stance.

cheers
