Automatic Transmission Problem!

Hey guys..
My 318i auto is experiencing problems with the transmission.
When i engage, Drive,3rd,2nd or 1st gear and push on the accelerator the car doesnt move forward it just revs the engine. When its engaged in Reverse, it works..

Is this the transmission gone all together? Or is it something small that needs fixing?

Any tips will be appreciated.

Well you start with the oil level and it gets worse from there.
If thats a tip for you.
