Digital Climate Control

Just wanted to know if i can replace the standard climate control on my 94 318is with the digital one and would it all work properly or will i need to source other stuff

does anyone know where i can get one from apart from ebay


and also how do i go about putting the computer in

Which computer do you speak of? The OBC, that is located underneath the Aircon controls?

To convert the analogue clock to a digital item, do a google search and you'll find plenty of info on it, however doing it quickly then, it looks like there's alot of work in it.. Likewise with a digital climate control. To purchase either item, scour ebay and BMW forums, as well as wreckers, or get a quote from BMW on the new unit, after you find out exactly what parts you need

i thought there would be a bit of work with putting the dig clock in

i was told that the digital climate was plug and play

the digital climate control system needs to be recoded to ur car, its not a simple task to do an upgrade from an analog because of the technicality involved with the way the digital system works. Speak to a bmw technician and they will tell u wat the best thing to do is..

i was looking for a digital unit at one stage aswell but now coz of that issue im looking for another analog unit

Did you ever have it quoted to convert analogue to digital? My analogue unit works perfectly, I was just hoping to freshen up the interior with a digital unit.

It gets quite involved i'ts not as simple as putting in the control panel.
You need the servo motors for the vent positioning(face/defrost/feet) and as said above you need to calibrate the unit to the car. I'm not sure if E36 has a seperate body computer or if it is all in the DME but it needs to be told the digital unit is there now too.
I'd look at getting a fresh looking analogue control unit or mabey just new bulbs so it is bright and shiny!
Sometimes retrofitting is simply more work and hassel than the end result id worth.

i spoke to a workmate that works full time as a bmw mechanic and he was telling me about the issues and also emphasised on wat White318i said..

so a new analog or new buttons is wat im after
