S4s ROCK!!!

My friend, Chris, bought an '00 S4 and I love it!! I took a rotary at 65 in a down pour and had to fight to get it out of shape!! The thing just hooks and goes, it's like point and shoot.

My M3 is definitely lighter on its feet, but, you gotta love Quattro!!

Oh, and the donuts!! We need to get it on video, it's quite a sight. The thing can almost spin on one axis perfectly. I actually think it could with practice. Juvenile, but, awesome!!

Aye, tis true the S4 is a great car, but some people will give you crap on the e36 competitor. They have not that great suspension and understeer like a mofo...aprently, i still love them.

Yeah, he's going to mod it. He wants to do the full APR deal, but, I told him to do the suspension first. I'm loving it 'cause I get to mess with it!!

It does understeer quite a bit, but, it's in the rain where it really shines. On dry pavement, you can definitely enter a turn faster in the M3 and the turn in is better.

I can't hammer it out of a corner in the rain without a little tail out action and wheelspin in my M3. In the S4, once you've turned in and pointed it, you can just mash the pedal. It was quite an experience the first time I tried it. You can feel the power being transfered from wheel to wheel, it's pretty cool.

Both are no biggie when you have motorhead friends like me. He has had a plumbing issue, but, I think the turbo problems are mostly due to the owners. There are certain procedures you must follow in order to keep turbos healthy. Most ignore them and end up paying the price.

S4 is my next car. I like Audi/VW interiors. I would get an extended warranty on the turbos, and would chip after knowing I had extra $$ to replace turbos.

It is only unreiliable when you mod uneducated. I had an S4 for about 2 years and went balls to the wall on her, the things i learned and with my expierance i could build up a 100% Reliable 450 Hp S4 all day long.

It is a great machine, but not a "Drving Machine". The whole reason i am trying to get into an M3 is for the driving expierance it offers. The S4 fixes to many driver errrors due to its "All Wheel Drive". If you are looking for a Fast, fly around town type or Year round car can't beat it. But don't confuse it with an M3 as far as drving pleasure.

I agree. I would much rather have my M3, but I love the S4 for what it is. I wouldn't say it's not a driving machine, just a different direction towards driving pleasure than the M3. It's has it's strong points as I'm sure you know first hand.

You must speak with my friend, Chris. He is all about modding it and I'd like him to speak with someone who has been there and done that. I have given him some direction, but, never actually owning/modding one myself, I don't want to steer him in the wrong direction.

S4 is a good car, the problem is most (not all) of the Audi folks are dicks. They think the S4 ownz the road.
