| fighting upstate NY speeding ticket.... has anyone fought a speeding ticket issued in upstate NY? I'm licensed / insured and registered in Massachusetts, I'm curious if the judge will have a copy of my driving record when I appear before him?? any ideas? thanks. |

| pay the fine. I dont know about mass, but on the NY dmv page it says NYS does not except points on ones lic. from other states.... pay the fine and be done. Also NY state does not plea bargain if you recieved a ticket from a trooper. |

| NY speeding tickets will not transfer to your MA record. More severe tickets WILL though (e.g. dui, reckless driving, etc.) The only state that I know of whose speeding tickets definitively transfer over are NH tickets. Also, don't get caught in CT either~ they can arrest you if you they pull you over for doing 30+ over the limit... my friend has a mug shot to prove it.

| PBR's experience is in line with my own. None of the multiple speeding tickets I received while in college in upstate NY transferred to my Ma license - However, my insurance did find out about them once they pulled a nation-wide DMV report on my social security number, and my premium was raised as a result. Although now that I think about it....I think they pulled a report on the license plate of the car I was driving. I was at Skidmore from 1993 to 1997, so things might have changed since then. ![]() |
