| Dude I told you, plea not guilty, take it to court, you'll talk to a somebody in court, tell them your really sorry you understand speeding can kill not only yourself but cause pain for you family and the family if God forbid you killed someone else. Promise to never do it again. They'll knock you down to a non moving violation and donation to a non profit. Endo story.

| In Ct, with the right atitude it is. Dont be a scum bag, show emotion and you'll be home free on a first attempt. My dad is a local po and my neighbors are Staties, thats what they tell me to tell all my friends who ask for help on speeding tickets, and it works.

| More like that is the attitude they want people to come to court with. It WILL NOT get you a free pass everytime. I have fought plenty of tickets for all types of infractions over the past 15 years, and there is no set of rules that will work every time you show up in court (first offense or not). I have been a total ass in court and been treated like royalty, and I have worn suits and gone with/without an attorney and gotten treated like shit. It all depends on the day, and who is hearing your case. I got a ticket in RI for 4 over the limit on 95S and was not cut a break, while the guy in front of me with the Daytona Beach tank top was let off from speeding in a school zone. Sure, show up intending to kiss some ass, but don't be surprised if it does nothing for you (especially for doing 85 in a 65 construction zone. I read OP's offense on another board.)

| Dude Im not saying its going to work 100% or his money back. But showing up and being an ass is not the way to do it. Be cool, and try it, it doesnt hurt anything.

Actually you're wrong. Sometimes that approach works just fine. I showed up once with a list of shit that I thought the officer did incorrectly and refused to let him get a word in. Ticket dismissed. Sometimes you need to go on the offensive to make your point. Obviously there are plenty of variables that go into a successful trip to court, but your description of what to say while there will have very inconsistent results, definitely not a slam dunk like you say. I have seen it done plenty of times and have never been impressed enough to give it a shot on my next trip.
