Dirty(literally)E30 Turbo project car

Well, I finally have the 325is at my house! This is my latest project. She's getting a Full T4 Turbo using a Cartech Manifold and other goodies. She's an auto and I'll be doing a 5spd swap as well. I'll be parting out what we don't want such as the stock dark red leather sport interior which is in good shape. Here she is dirty as hell!

I rescued it from under a tree in a friends driveway for short money. It's been sitting there for a year or so and it shows. It's a solid car and it's straight. It's even got H&Rs and Bilsteins! What do you guy think of it!

I'll have more pics up tomorrow after I give it a good cleaning. Then it's time to tear into it get it ready for boost! I can't wait to drive this thing. Can you say 400+hp E30.

Yep, It's a '90. I thought he said it was a '91 but I got the title and it say's 1990. Not that I care, the car is in good shape it just sticks like mildew.

It's got a few minor issues but nothing that can't be easily taken care of. I should have it running pretty quick although you never know what you'll find when you start pulling shit apart.

I already have the majority of the Turbo components, a new headgasket, heavy duty Metric Blue grade 12:9 Head Bolts, 5 spd tranny, pedal setup, clutch master and slave, flywheel, clutch, ect. I just need to put together a parts list for the remaining things needed so my buddy, the cars new owner, can get me the $$ for the rest of the parts.

At first I thought it looked like someone parked it at the beach to long and the gulls did a little target practice.

The finished car should be a force to be reckoned with. Can't wait to see it.

Well, I started pulling the interior out. It's been leaking water from some where but I think it just needs new rubbers. I don't think it's the sunroof. It was coming in through the doors when I powerwashed it and the floor is wet so I'm pulling the carpet and trashing it. Gotta clean the stink out of it before I can do the fun stuff!

The Drivers seat track is jammed! So I hit it with some liquid wrench hopefully that'll free it up so I can remove the seat easily. The kid parked it and left me all his trash!

The trunk leaks also but a new seal should fix that. I just have to get all the water out. If there's any sureface rust which it could very well have I'll just sandblast the trunk and repaint it white.

AN engine compartment fit for some mice or a chipmunk. It's actually not bad just a lot of pine needles and crap from sitting under a tree. The engine it self is all there. I'll charge the battery and see how she runs tomorrow or amybe later tonight. My friend said it ran great when he parked it just had the normal rocker problem. Hopefully, she's ok and has good compression but I do have another motor just in case.

I just figured I'd give you guys more of an idea of what I'm working with. It's not mint but it's a good car. It's just been neglected. She's getting some lovin DTMPower style!

We're going to run Race seats and no back seat. Probably a 4 point but maybe a full cage he hasn't decided. I'll put a rug back in it but it'll be stripped besides the rug and door panels. We're going to change to the black panels from the other car as this one is mold and mildew city! I'm also allergic to mold so this stage is killing me! It helps we have another '90 325is to get parts from.

Yeah, we restored the CJ8 a few years ago but my mother had to have some monkey do the paint work instead of my body guy and it's bubbling up already! I put a whole painless wiring harness in it, a weber carb, borla header, and dynamax exhaust. It's still running the 258 I6 but an LS1 is in it's future. It's a solid all metal CJ8 with a solid frame and running gear. There's no rot on this truck but shitty paint prep is a bitch!

Well, I got the driver seat out and pulled out most of the rug. I found a hole in the passenger side footwell. It's not bad so a quick sheetmetal patch should do the trick. Also, the trunk is fine just have to fix the seal and it'll be all good. It has some water in it but its still white no rust!

I'll have to get Jamie over hear tomorrow to help me finish the clean up as I can't take much more of it. The mold finally got to me and I just had to get out of the car. Good thing I'm almost done with this phase! I'll probably get sick if I subject myself to much more of this mold and mildew!
