yeah... so i almost swapped ends doin ~60 tonight
i was getting off of 93n and onto 95n... Road was just barely visibly wet (and could have been icey, since afterwards i looked at my clock & it said it was 37 degrees)... the off/on ramp makes a long sweeping right, long sweeping left, long sweeping right & onto 95.
first right hand turn on the on/off ramp i could feel a good amount of understeer. on the left hander i tapped the gas (in 5th) just to see how slippery it was..... and yeah... the ass definitly came out on me so the car is now looking VERY left... oops.........
luckilly i had the presence of mind to realize there was a guardrail back on my right, so I made damn sure i wasn't gonna overcorrect & hit it head on... instead I corrected just enough to keep the ends from swapping & just drifted off to the left side of the ramp, hit a small sloped curb (like 3" high) on the left side of the road & went onto the grass... ass came out even more to my right, but i kept it under control & got the ass back in... well, now i gotta get back on the road, so i kept the right turn input & the ass came way back out to the left, so i was lookin back at the on/off ramp... straightened back it out, hopped the curb again, got back on the ramp, kept on truckin & called my GF to scare the shit outta her.... "HI honey... so I just slid off the road..."
thank god there were no other cars around to avoid... but of course if there was a car in front of me, they probably woulda slowed down enough so that wouldn't have happened.
lookin back on it i actually had a litte fun since i knew there was no imminant danger to anyone else. i also knew what to do to not lose total control, even though the car defninitly got a little away from me (since i wasn't totally planning on goin off the road just to avoid that guardrail on the right).
