nvm, its a 535i not a 3series *help* should i get it?

well i went to see this car my dad has been talking about just now and it turned out to be a 92 535i. its silver with 155k miles on it for $6500. not a bad deal for a car to get me through high school right? it is in good condition considering the miles and ageif i am to buy it, it will be tomorrow since im going away for 2 weeks on friday. please tell me what u think i should do!

also what are some good mods for it that i could do performance AND looks wise? do they have xenons or angel eyes or anytype of aftermarket head lights for it? also would i be able to replace all the plastic crap on the exterior with something i little nicer or would i have to just paint the plastic?

chris and dan - if i do get this car, i think i would want to get the 18in 7-series rims for it. would that be possible to fit on an e34? if so how much do u think they would run me going through rimpro?

thanks in advance!

Buy it!!!

e34 535 5 speeds are tough to find!!! Not to mention a silver 92. Snatch it up, the 3.5 is a great motor and has been around forever. There are plenty of power mods too but I think you will find the car very snappy in stock form.

Get a Jim Conforti Chip, Sachs makes a great suspension kit for e34s, get european spec projectors first so you can upgrade to Xenon later, also you can get "Shadownline trim" that was on the e34 M5 to replace all of the weathered chrome trim.

I had an e34 and am very farmiliar with the quirks and mods. Shoot me a PM if you have any questions.

Here is a pic of my old e34

and theres too many 3ers on this board anyway

the E34 is the best looking modern 5er
and the M30 engine is strong like bull.
not to mention if you chip it... its WICKED fast
E34 535i Turner Motorsport Conforti Performance Chip
Part #: E34535
Applications: 1989 - 1992 535i (E34)
+43 hp / +21 ft-lbs

208bhp to start

Quote:
I have had the upgrade for 2 months now and the dyno was 39 horses at 6000 rpm, realistically its 19 hp for everyday driving. by the way the jc chip is the second chip after trying a knockoff...I truly can't tell the difference between the two. I recommend the upgrade for off the line jumps and top end run. I have 1 other dyno run next month as a group run and I intend to post the results with the newest chip, dinan cool air intake and the racing dynamics headers and exhaust upgrades. last run was 306 hp, we shall see if that new chip is any different. I'll let you all know. Andrew
and if you ever need to sell it, Ill buy it.

Here is a fine example of what the M30 motor is capable of.

Feh - The E39 is hands-down the most brilliantly penned design ever to come from BMW, and most certainly Chris Bangle. However, this irrefutable truth aside, the E34 is awesome in its own right, and you should look forward to a great time owning the car.

There is definitely only one place/man to source a chip from, and it's Mr. Conforti. He works wonders.

Congrats!

as nice as the E39 is... in my opinion the E34 is the last of the classic BMWs and therefore holds a certain position for me.
proper dual 5 1/4" headlamps
proper kidney grille
proper lines.
aggressive yet conservative.

BTW, you may want to get that awesome green intake manifold with the MAF conversion.
