| F1 revision...(this is gay) |

| I know its shitty, but they're right.. i mean, BMW and Mclaren are practically the only ones that can compete, and they don't win shit. Something has to give, handicapps suck.. but in the name of preserving the sport, i don't totally disagree, although its contradictory to the nature of competition. We'll see what happens.. Schuey is supposedly retiring after next season, but even then.. Ferrari, BMW, and McLaren will still run that shit. That's the one good thing about Winston-Cup (aside from the wrecks).. at least its anyone's race, i mean one of 20 guys can win a Winston-Cup race. In F1, like that article said.. Ferrari's won 14 of 16 races! That's absurd! |

| Something does need to be done to help the smaller teams compete. As much as I love BMW-Williams, I'd like to see more than just BMW, Ferrari, and McLaren at the top all the time. More than just high HP engines and huge costs need to be on the bill of F1. Reliability and such is something that should surely be considered. What they are doing is a little drastic for even my taste....but at least they see the problems with F1. CART + F1 = more competition, more teams, better sport all around. Then you'll have 2 leagues, IRL and F1. Good plan imho. -Prince |

| Cart + F1 = retarded. Two totally, totally different cars.. they may look similar, that's where the likenesses end. F1 drivers are bred through a totally different progression, that's apples and oranges. Besides, it'd never happen. F1 budgets for top teams are pushing 1/2 BILLION dollars per season.... !!!!!!!!!!!!!! $500 million dollars. 1 season. THAT is obscene! |

| I think perhaps a spending cap and "trickle down" profits would be the best ways to keep things "fair." The "excess" money for the best teams could be diversified among the weaker teams to keep them in the sport. Later, Tom P.S. Cart cars would get smoked like a fat blunt if they ever merged. ![]()

I wonder what'd be cheaper.. organizing the theft of an F1 V10, or buying one. 19000rpm is the shiznit. |

![]() The fact is, Ferrari is sooo far ahead, its boring to watch the sport. F1 title was decided BEFORE the end of the series, and that sucks. Its a problem- how did Ferrari get so much better? Why cant the other teams keep up? (must me NOS ) Im not sure this is the way to solve the problem......but having said that, BMWs used to carry a 50KG weight penalty in the BTCC as they were RWD...and they still kicked everyones butt Its a tough one to overcome. What I do wonder is if champions should be limited to, say, 4 F1 titles? To stop domination all year, every year by the likes of Schumacher. I mean come on, we know you are good, and youve got $100m+ in the bank. Call it a day, and live on as a legend... (I dont like the guy anyway because hes not a true sportsman- win or nothing, do whatever it takes, no passion) As for CART and F1...completely different races series guys. F1 doesnt need 'support' anywhere but the US, only place it doesnt seem popular...they have just started CART here at ONE track and its a damn oval! Boring...but contrary to popular belief, CART cars are bigger and faster (260MPH ish) than F1 (but not as cool )

| Cart cars are faster top speed, but don't have near the agility or braking ability... Guys- if the trend continues, teams will just continue to drop out! Who is going to put up 100's of millions a season when they KNOW they have no chance of winng, it's pointless!!! I agree, it sucks, but SOMETHING has to level the playing field.. the budget DEFINITELY needs to be decreased, there's way too much cash going into this sport. After a couple more seasons, the big teams will have enough inertia to keep going.. small teams will all drop out.. and no one will be able to be competitive ever again. |

![]() Heres an idea...ban Ferrari for a season...give the others time to catch up on a technical level! Totally inpractacable but an idea...

| Some of the most exciting racing leagues in the world have a handicap similar to this. I think it will make the sport all that much more exciting. JGTC does this, you never know who is going to win in those races.. |

| I agree with this actually. Ferrari has definatly put in the effort and has the skill, but F1 has really been boring as hell this season! I went to the USGP, and it was awesome being there, but watching the rerun the other night I changed channels because its not even a race. Make F1 as competitive as Nascar and I can promise it will be a hell of a lot more fun to watch, and also if more teams at least have a prayer at winning I bet there will be more team intrest in F1 also.... Win/win situation to me (unless your a Ferrari nut who loves watching them own 14 races ... ). |
