| yeah.. it was a disaster.... Ralf Shumachers engine blew up after about about 6 laps, then Montoya (who was in 3rd place) had a chronic chassis problem ![]() http://www.bmw.williamsf1.com/Layout...9-384ffe5df0eb Last edited by alexm : 09-16-2002 at 01:03 AM. |

I never used to miss those race classes......now I could care less. Hypocritical crybaby orgs shouldn't be able to wield that much power. |

| AlfaNick: while it isn't the case now (you're correct, one qualifier and then one racen engine) - the FIA has been trying to set a mandate to make teams use one engine through-out the weekend in an effort to cut costs. Seems to me we're back in the '60s again. --Dan |

..yeah...Porsche doesn't wanna lose to some "little" BMW's...they have too much pride to admit that the company that they think is supposedly "lower" than them is better ..they feel threatened!Porsche= ![]() Props to BMW...they continue to prove time and time again that they are the best Schumacher and Ferrari= ![]()

| Whats the point of having a high powerd engine if it brakes down ??? Montoya may be good in the quali but in the race he freezes, i have been a big fan of M Schumi fore about 7 years now and try to beat him ! BMW has the power but Ferrari is reliable and whats more important in a race ??? I think BMW made a big mistake when they brought in Montoya an pushed away Button i like Button and Montoya is like Zanardi they win everything in the cart series but in the F1 they don't perform so wel now do they. Montoya has been far more succesfull in the F1 then Zanardi. Allot is caused by engine failure but its still a mechanical sport... |

| BMW F1 engines arnt that bad. It is just recently that BMW has been fooling around with higher RPMs. These engines wernt ment to go that high. I heard reports that during this race the engines were pushing close to 20,000RPM. They were only mad eto handle around ~18-19,000. When the next engine comes out it will be alot better. Also Williams needs to get on the game a build a better Car. The team also needs to switc tires, JPM and Schummacher (sp?) are complaining about them.

| From all the indications I've seen, BMW has the best engine in F1 today. However, the chassis they use it neither aerodynamically agressive enough or advanced enough to compete with the Ferrari team. I've read many times that BMW simply has a better engine than Ferrari does. However, because of the lack of a high quality shell to put it in, BMW can't win (no matter how good the driver). If Williams takes a more agressive stance with a chassis and body for the next incarnation of their F1 car, I think we can all expect more Ralph and less Michael in the winners circle. -Prince |
