PLS HElp....First Timer

HI Guys need your help PLEASE....
I drive a 1995 E36 2door M3...

I am not a regular racer...i get guys that come and sit on my butt on the highway and i just smoke them

Anyway..im about to put my car on the track to do some 1/4 miles and im doing so with street setup....

I have 245/40/17 at the back with 2.4bars of air in it....what should my preassure be?

Also my car is abit specail, just something about her that makes her go

What will be the best rev to keep my car at when launching it...on the street 3000rpm-3500rpm im all over the road...

Please guys i need as much help as possible..

I will be racing this Friday coming, which gives me 4 days to get my ducks in a row...

Any info will help

depends on the track conditions. mainly track temp, track prep, tires, ambient temp, and car setup.

there's no magic numbers, sorry to disappoint ya. You won't gain as much from air-ing down radials as you would from wrinkle wall slicks, I could only go down to about 20 psi (1.4 bar) on 275 wide drag radials before I ran into slippage problems. Plan on sucking big time on your first drag outing. Took me almost a whole year to dial my car in when I was into drag racing. On the same setup, just adjusting simple things like tire pressure and learning how to drag race properly, I went from 15's to low 13's. All practice, no parts.

Thanks for the info....the event has been postponed to next week...gives me time to get some slicks

So i finally went and got my first 1/4 mile time...

14.2 seconds...

Alot of racers told me that it was a good time for a first timer...

I went full street car...normal street tyres, boot with all the usual stuff , 3/4 tank of fuel(normal 95 octane fuel) and a faulty fuel pump...

So next time i will....go with semi slicks, take all unwanted weight out of the car and go with a higher octane fuel and a new fuel pump...i hopefully would see low 13's

not to bad for a NA car...

What was your whole run? 60', 1/8 mile ET and MPH, ect.

14.2 is not bad for a first time for a lot of people cant get that low with there stock m3 its shocking to me. i guess about 13.7-8 is where most US spec stock e36 m3's hold with good drivers. i have a 5.0 mustang that runs 13.7 @100 mph with a 2.0 60' time on street tires. i have friends that make the same power as i do in my stang in there stang that built theres to drag race instead of road race and they run 12.2 @109-110 with 1.3 60' times on drag radials

Sorry i do not know....from all the excitement and adrenalin i was just happy finishing the race, i found out what my time was a day later when i watched the video
