so i wanted to get a baseline of how much hp my race car makes with the old tired eta motor. here are the numbers 114whp and 149wtq now that sounds ok for an eta which is 121hp and 171tq factory rated at flywheel but ive seen number posted by other ITA bmws with the ETA motor that put down as much as 142whp. my friend that ive been racing against this year is starting to get close to my times about a half second slower then me. his numbers were 128whp and 169wtq. with his numbers and my fresh motor in the garage i cant wait to dyno with that motor. oh and the most recent race here in portland i was only 2 second off the pole time and 1 second from 2nd. 8th in class there were 15 cars within 1.5 seconds man it was a blast. cant wait till i install the new motor.

Those numbers are just with cams, exhaust and chip? What other cars do you compete against? Just eta's?

stock cam can not change it, and right now its just my friend and i runnin e30s. right now up front in my class is a honda crx , nissan 180sx/240sx and sigh a miata. other cars i run with are dodge neon . toyota corolla (ae86) integras of 2 generations. rx7s gen1, other cars that can be in the class older vw gti mk1&2 mr2s mk1 supras, there looks to be about 100 different car that can run my class

I live in new jersey and I am looking to get into something like you are in. How would I go about finding it? Who sanctions your events?

here in the north west there are 2 main sanctioning bodies I.C.S.C.C. this one is only in the northwest. and S.C.C.A. you have SCCA that covers your area you also have N.A.S.A. in your area. here is northeast region scca NESCCA and here is the NASA NASA NE 2008 look over there sites go out to some of their races and see what looks fun to drive. then talk with the owners on how much money there spending to keep racing
