 JGTC / ALMS question I was at the JGTC race a year or two ago when they raced once in California and it was awesome to watch the GT500 cars like the Takata NSX and Ebbro/Mugen NSX etc. I also am a big fan of the ALMS series and have seen them race at Laguna Seca. My friend in Japan said that the GT500 cars are faster than the LMP1 and LMP2 cars. Is this true for say a 2 hour race? I can't imagine an Audi R8 or R10 or even the Porsche Spyders being passed by GT500 cars. What do you guys think?      |

| Without even googling what a GT500 car is, I can guarantee the DHL Spyder is faster.

| ALMS cars should be faster... Unless there is something silly with the tire / aero package... LMP2 - 1,653 lbs; ~480hp GT500 - 2,425 lbs - 2976 lbs; ~500hp Don't get me wrong - the JGTC cars are _fast_; a serious race machine; capable of sustaining 2.3g - peaking upwards of 3g in the corners; all carbon fiber; 50-60million per year budget; etc... I'd actually like to see them run with the ALMS cars and see how they do perform... But the GT500 class is probably somewhere closer to the GT1 cars...
