Plans for track

I'll be downgrading to a honda civic or something like it so that I can put my M3 in the garage in prep for track. My question is where can I get the standards for building a reliable track car that works well and is safe i.e. Rollcage, Seats, Harnesess, Fuel delivery, Engine mods, Suspension setups. All that goodness, any help and advice would be greatly appreciated cause i'd like to know what to buy before I start wasting money on unreliable or worthless parts, so planning is a must. most important part of your plan will be picking a class and series. If your car is bone stock, Look into BMWCCA I Stock or SCCA T2. Their rulebooks are posted on their websites. Bolt in cages are no longer allowed in BMWCCA, but I think they are still allowed in SCCA. Figure out that and a budget, and we'll chat some more. It's all about goooood times!
