E36 race setup - suspension

I just wanted to post up a quick question. Ive been searching for a couple of hours and found a little bit of info. but i was curious as to what people are doing for track suspension on their E36 non-M cars.

im curious as to what might be a good alignment to start with? spring rates? and what are Must haves.

and does anyone have any idea of what the PSS9 spring rates are?

It seems like most answers to this question are based on what the rule book says. What type of racing are you planning on? SCCA ITS, BMWCCA J-Stock, etc?

If I understand the spring mounting point rules correctly, the PSS9 woudln't be allowed... But I seriously am lacking on my Improved Touring knowledge.

What is absolutely required: CAMBER PLATES.

Anything else... The best advice I can give you is to call the guys over at ground control and have a discussion with them about your intended class and etc...

I'm guessing the answer is something like 500 front 550 rear and some custom valved koni's... but that may be a bit soft for a pure track car.

I've only seen one of these bolted in, but they should be something you can weld too...

http://www.autopowerindustries.com/Application_List.htm

You said cage, not bar... but I have a good opinion of these guys too:

If you are on a tight budget and want good work done reasonably and don't mind traveling - we have a local shop that does very good work.

Domination Chassis:

Don't let the website put you off, they are welders not web designers.

custom work, and yeah looks like no hot linking to those pics... they were just examples of other work done by them on BMW's...

My car used to be an ITS car, running all ground control suspension. DON"T DO the rear camber arm rods, they're not legal. 550 is probably a good number for the lighter engine, I was running 700-900s depending on where and when and what weather. The guys at ground control are very helpful.

does sound like a good setup. what tires are you running? the stiffer the spring rate the more heat the tires take in.
