Whatever gets you the compromise between even temps, even wear, and good grip.

I'm personally running -3 front, -1.5 rear. But I'm not in a BMW and numbers change depending on where I'm at.

Depends on tires also. I've run -4 in the front all the way to 0 degrees. The tire manufacturer has that info. generally though, the e36's are -3.5 front, -2 rear.

Bilstein doesn't release the spring rates for their PSS9's because the springs are progressive. Which is GREAT for daily driven / spirited driving, but not as great for track use.

If you want a consistent (linear) spring rate, go with ground control

I heard that too about GC coilovers, you don't see them much on road-going cars.
