BMWCCA?

What exactly goes on in the BMWCCA? Are there actual club races like in the SCCA? Or is it just a club with a few track events? I want to join the SCCA to start club racing, but if I could I just join BMWCCA for the same thing?

The BMW CCA is the largest Marque car club in the country with ~ 70,000 current members. If you join the BMW CCCA you will most likely be automatically placed in the CT Valley Chapter, but you can request to be placed in any other Chapter, like the Boston Chapter, Genessee Valley, New Jersey or Patroon Chapters.

Every chapter offers different driving and non-driving activities, including skills schools, autocrosses, tech sessions, concours, etc.

BMW CCA Club Racing is a place for those interested in racing (usually those who have moved up through the advanced levels of driving schools) but do not want the risk or cost of scca club racing.

BMW CCA Club Racing is fully independent of the BMW CCA, and the BMW CCA is fully independent of BMW NA/BMW AG

this is a common fallicy. there is no difference in risk or cost between scca and bmwcca cr. you can spend just as much in car, maint and race expenses in either series, and i have seen more cars damaged in bmwcca cr than in scca.

and if you get an anurism trying to read the scca gcr. then you might be better in the bmwcca. scca rules are to complicated for me.
