anyone have any experience with the Sumitomo HTR Z II

does anyone have any experience with these tires? i already have two of these in the rears of my car now. i need new front ones now and i dont want to have differnet fronts and rears. i have auto-x a few times with them but i cant really tell cause they are in the rear, but my front ones slip so much i cant tell if they are good. i dont want to get them and hate them and then have to get four new ones. so if anyone has had any experience with them, let me know. also let me know if u track or auto-x ur car at all.

I'm happy with Kumho Ecsta MX's... Bang for buck it is a good choice. They wear a LOT longer than the falkens which might be good since you are going to do tons of drivers schools (30 runs or so a day) next year! Bridgestone SO-3 Poleposition are very expensive, but available in your sizes and it is a good tire. Falken Azenis you might have size issues, but that is a good tire, a little _more_ than the Kumho, but still a majorly fast tire in autox. And yes, the Hankook Ventus RS2 Z212 is getting a good review, but they are a new tire that has only recently started to get autox use.

I'd stick with one of those 4, based on budget, size availability etc.

Only thing I would add since makign that post is that if you have a heavy car, you want to run a little more air in the HTR-Zs... Like 42 front / 36 rear - or more... They seem to like that.

I'd still stick with the others I mentioned for street tires vs. AutoX...

I do. HTR-Z is an old Dunlop copy (Dunlop owns Sunitomo) Good tire at the time, but now that tire is almost 10 years old. HTR-ZII - not even close to competitive in an autocross. Good rain tire on the street, but very grappy over uneven road surfaces. I would not get them again.

I autocrossed the Hankook Z212 all season - good all around tire, but the reall king of the hill for autocross is the Falken Azenis RT615. Stiffer sidewall, more grip. Hands down a faster tire.

In the rain the Goodyear Eagle F1-GS/D3 is AWESOME but not a fast autocross tiree in the dry.
