| what's wrong with my m3? Tonight I took my car down to portland international raceway for 1/4 mile drag racing. This was the first time I took my car since its been modified (cold air intake, chip, euro HFM, AA exhaust). Last year when it was stock I ran a 14.776 on a slipping clutch. The clutch has been replaced since then. Tonight I only got 2 runs: 60'-2.309 60'-2.346 330-6.310 330-6.323 1/8- 9.586 1/8-9.604 MPH-76.55 MPH-75.66 1000-12.350 1000-12.364 1/4- 14.709 1/4-14.709 MPH-95.22 MPH-95.82 What's the problem, shouldn't I be running low 14s/high 13s?? |

| are you running your stock injectors if so maybe you are starving the engine a bit causing some pinging. Not sure that is you problem but that is what fist came to mind seeing your set up googd luck |

| damn that sucks... i ran 13.9 @ 102 from just ecu and injectors on shit tires... sence then ive done my mid pipes and intake and some sticky ass tires for the track...i did run 14.2 twice only because i didnt lower my tire pressure... once i did to about 25 -27 psi i was constant 13.9s ![]() |

| its probably not due to the injectors, because your chip is probably calibrated for your set up correct? maybe do a couple more runs to get more data before you start throwing money at the situation. Does your car feel any different on your daily drives? good luck |

| Definitly look into lowering your rear tire pressure and raising the front a bit. Those 60' times arent very good. Im surprised at how low your mph is though. Maybe take your car in for a full tune up? Have a mechanic check it out.

| I'm assuming you know how to drive stick, i would suggest getting a tune up and maybe replace your injectors with bigger ones, or run octane boost. But 14.7 is kind of wierd with slippin clutch then a new clutch. Maybe it wasn't the clutch that was slipping? That's my .02.

| you're probably worried its the car? ...i bet it isn't. You're probably just doing something thats causing the low times...no big deal. bigred318 said it right - practice practice practice - I road race but i doubt i would do well at a drag strip, ain't the same thing. ![]()

| Tyre pressure, tyre temp, track temp, air temp, condition of track (Greasy, less rubber than before etc) and of course drag strip all are factors in your time (Assumeing that you drive excatly the way you did before) Go circuit racing its more fun, and lasts longer than 14 seconds a go... ![]()
