| what's your price range? I am assuming your using this for performance use on the track? autox? they don't make good autox tires, and they don't make good track tires. they make OK street tires. I've had used the Toyo T1-S, they are great tires. I won't be buying ES100's again.

| I have not experience with these tires, but you might check out www.tirerack.com You'll be able to read reviews from people who have used the tires. |

| ES100s are not track tires. In fact they are not even Yoko's best street tire. Yoko's A032Rs are the way to go for track rubber from yoko. I know there are a lot of other good R-compound choices out there but unfortunately in a 315 17" to fit my 930 I am very limited in options.

| ES100 is a great tyre for around town There is a better in the range V102 but it still dosen't handle the track. the A032r are great tyre but myself i run the Bridgestone RE55s as it is much more suited to both dry and wet. I drove on mine 100% of the time you pay heaps for them you don't get good miles out of them but the fun is well worth it |

| they are not a track tire, not a autox tire and not a street tire. they are not a street tire for one reason.....too much noise. after about 3,000 miles it sounded like i was riding on super swompers. |

| I'd roll with FK-451's if you have the sizing options. I used to run ES100's at the track (they arent that bad) but am having much more luck with the Falken's. Typically I run RA-1's at the track, but from time to time I'll run streets, and I was very impressed with the 451's. Will |

| at the moment, I'm expirementing with different tires, haven't gotten to any tires I'd like, so I went back to My Kumho's Ecstas. I just drive around now, and occasionally get it sideways in the rain. |

| es 100s I used ES100s on the street and track for all last year. I have a 92 E36 325i with 450/500 coil overs, stripped interior, roll bar, etc. I instruct with the PCA, NASA, and BMWCCA. I really liked the ES100s. Yes they are not as fast as a true rcomp. But they sure do last longer and you can drive to and from the track on them. I have had Toyo RA1s, Sumitomo HTRZ IIs, Kumho 712s, and Yoko AVS Intermediates. Beyond the ultimate higher grip of the RA1s I still would pick the street tire ES100 over them on the 8 inch wide rims I had. I love the extreme slip angles you can have with the street tires. I like the progressive breakaway caracteristics they have vs a true rcomp. Makes for nice drifting displays. On my second DE with them it poured rain at VIR and 120 down the front straight was not an issue. Once they wore down to about 1/3 remaining they became skatey in most rain at track speeds. They did get noisey but I was unsure what milage was on them. But since the car is basically a CCA J Prepared racecar w/o the full cage the noise was not an issue. Running them backward in the dry for treadwear evenness exacerbates the noise issue. I have not gone very far up the pricing foodchain for street/track tires but I have heard some decent things about the Falken tire that was mentioned above. I may try them next. I tend to be abusive to my tires and I think cheap is the way to go. If you are interested I have a set of 16x8 BBS track wheels that are great for 325/328 E36s FS. They are perfect for 225/45/16, which is what I ran, and could handle a 245/45/16. I am moving up to 17x9s to hopefully race on next year. Ryan |

| Ryan, The Kuhmo Ecta MX's will be better than the ES100's for what you do with your car, and will still be cheaper than the Falken's... But, both those options are however a class of street tire above the ES100's (and others you mentioned) when talking about performance. They are 140 treadwear however... ![]()

| I just ordered falken Azenis RT-615 these are replacing the RT-215. havent tested these tires out but there the closest to a race tire for the street. they look fucking sick. I got them for $150 a piece. expensive compared to the $110 RT-215. the RT-215 were ranked #1 for dry performance in comparo test in Eurotuner. with 2 330 ci's driven by Turner Motorsports owner and some other Turner guy. they said closest to an R compound more grip than G-Force just not as precise. excellent in the wet but not in standing water but the new ones improved wet/dry traction. Im so excited cant wait to reek some havok in these tires got my shitty snow tires on right now almost killed myself in these. http://www.vulcantire.com/falken.htm

| Don't like the Yoko AVS ES 100's, have not tried them on the track, they are okay for street, but I think they are better for lighter cars. They are not good for wet driving either. I had pretty good experiences with the Yoko Parada Spec II, but again, not good wet traction. I currently have Dunlop Supersport...DOT legal street tires, amazing grip and grat price too! |
| ||||
| I have these and they work well on the street and can be pressed into wet weather track use. Noise is not an issue, can't hear anything over the exhaust. Overall it's a good tire but it doesn't last that long, maybe 10,000 miles.

| I have a Modified '96 Z3 that I have just recently put the avs's on. I went from a 16" to 17" and so far I've been fairly happy. My first autocross that I will be able to attend is in 2 weeks, so I guess I'll see then how they fair. I've tried a few different tires on my car and for me, bang for the buck it's the Fuzion Zri. These things stick like glue and under very hard acceleration they're not easy to break loose. They're also a great wet weather tire, but make sure you take them off when snow comes around....they're made for summer. Last year's autocross I was running stock suspension but had the fuzions, I took 3rd overall in my class (B) and that was after bumping up to the AST division against the ///M's. They're definately worth checking out.
