For all the drifters of DTM Power

I was curious to find out if anyone that does a lot of drifting has changed to a different steering ratio. It seems like it would help a lot to reduce the amount needed to turn the wheel to keep the car under control. I also drive a Formula SAE car (a college race program) which we design and build from scratch every year, so we can use any steering ratio we want. For our current car we have two settings, it takes either a 180 or 270 degree turn of the wheel to go from lock to lock (full left to full right turn). That car gets out of control very fast, however it is easier to correct because of such a quick ratio. Please let me know what options there are for this, and if anyone has done something like this how does it affect handling at highway speeds.

you can add a z3 rack which is a quicker ratio, but other than that i don't know of any other racks.

Sounds like a cool cosworth. I am not new to drifting, just BMW's. I recently bought this car and I find myself having to spin the wheel faster and farther than any other car I have driven. Thats the only reason I was asking.

The torque has to make it more interesting to drive than watching a blind guy in an orgy.

no, i think the m3 rack has a quicker steering ratio. Something like 1.5 turns less then a 325

Does anyone know if the Z4 rack is a direct bolt on for the E36? I know the Z3 rack is, but I was told that the Z4 rack is even faster, which I would rather have.

z4 rack is a completely different machine. Im not sure but i think its a new technology that was used in the z4 for the first time, it used some electric design that gives the steering a bit more feel and its a lot easier to turn the wheel.

The z3 rack is the most proposed option to this problem since its a direct bolt on and doesnt require extensive modifications, plus you can pick one up for cheap

How cheap? I have seen them rebuilt for $140, which isn't bad.
