| Please clear up: "underaged on the track" What exactly are the rules behind 16 - 17 year olds being on the track? Is it any different from being 18 on the track? Are 16 - 17 year olds even allowed on the track? Please enlighten me because I want to try out the track sometime this summer (I turn 17 this June) and wanted to know if it was even possible and if anything was required since I am a minor.

| What track? What event? I did my first autox at age 16 (all you need is a driver's license and a minor waiver at all the events I've been to as of late) and headed to a local track a year later.

| I believe most clubs will allow you to drive in an event with the normal drivers or in a special class ... ONLY with a parents approval. 18 being the legal age. Autox would probably be your best bet to start out with... learn more car control... you can usually sign up for an intro autox event which they will break down the course in sections and practice different techniques. Road Courses can be harsh and an expensive way to loose your car if you don't have enough experience yet. |

| I think you have to be 18 to go over the pit wall on the hot pits during a competitive (timed) event...such as a race. In a DE, I don't think anyone cares although some formal rule may be in place.

| 18 over the wall and in the pits at ANY driving event. its an insurance rule, you have to be able to sign your life over.

| age It depends on the track. Each track has a different insurance policy and ways to get around it lol. If its a smaller event the owners may be a ble to find a way around it. Parents most likely will have to sign yoru life away. |

| It depends on the venue and the sanctioning body about all the different rules that are put in place. If its a SCCA event I don't believe they have a rule about being in the pits, but they might have a rule about being in the 'hot' pits. They just have your parents and you sign a waiver and your good to go in the pits. IRL has rules enforced that you can be under the age of 18 in the pits but not in the 'hot' pits.
