| First year, race Stock! You'll have your hands full with that class... It'll take you that year to decide what it takes to drive the more prepared classes, including how much $$$ it takes to prepare and THEN you can decide if it's worth it to you. The beauty of Auto-x it that you can have a ton of fun without spending an extra nickel on your car!

| depends on what you have done to it.... if it's aparent that it's not stock... well then your in whatever class you get put in... but try and be in a stock class... honestly u won't be a competitor the first 2-3 times out... you think you've got fast reflexes... you don't... you will learn to react much faster to things... and you WILL look ahead or be known as cone killa... when you go.. air up your tires about 5psi above normal and watch for shoulder wear... just remember to have fun... first few times out will be a little frustrating..

I'm one of those perfectionist personalities.. "Damnit Stupid Cone.. GRRR &*#^*ing Cone" Clean runs are what you want but you might want to stay clean... and definitly walk the course several times before the start or you will eventually suffer the embarassing moment of getting lost in a sea of cones.. ![]()

| I think you'll fit into street mod. I don't have the rule book in front of me any more, but this is a decent reference for SCCA Solo II. http://moutons.org/sccasolo/ |

| Come out to the NCC AutoXes. Tell them you are a novice, and someone will ride along with you. You are welcome to ride along with me, or any of the team.BAR guys for that matter. The point is to have fun, and if you get serious, then the fun becomes the competition.

| Your car will be in SCCA street mod. You will get killed in that class in that car. Go to have fun, do an event, then do an Evolution Autocross school, then go do another event and see how much better you are. Fast drivers not fast cars are the winners in autocross. Join the BMW CCA, and go to your local chapter's autocross events. You can usually get good instruction there. You've doe a bunch to your car, now it's time to start modding the driver. First off, tihghten the loose nut behind the wheel. And the first 3 most important things about autocrossing are 1 look ahead 2 Look ahead 3look ahead. the 4th would be walk the course as much as possible beforehand, with an experienced autocrosser at first to get pointers. don't talk about cars, ask questions about driving.
