| Well you dont need data acq to tell you that what the camber should be. All you need is a tire pyrometer. Just curious, whats you background with racing/datacq/crewchief/etc? Just remember, Have fun! |

| Eric this thread is a huge mess since Dunlop changed the picture of the tire we were talking about. ![]() They had the super sport slick in the picture at the beginning and now they have the super sport race. |

| I wish but I won't be ready for April. I need a lot more seat time. I am guessing BM I will be running 10psi too so not sure how that works out since supercharged cars are boosting that too. The car is tuned for 17psi but I can't keep it straight since that's just about 550 horsepower. 10psi is way more then enough, this thing flies. |

| I am guessing Bm, with the Fi 1.5 correction factor, that 4.5. Its not a BMW motorsports chassis, and does not really have anything else that would make it a SM, mainly just the engine is the determining factor. However if you do end up in SM, you might as well toss a Hewland in there ![]() Only thing that sucks about this, is that you'll almost always be in your own class, making basically just the fastest carson the track your competition. | the 6 speed would also bump me a bit right? |

| Since its a BMW OEm transmission, and its a Modified car, it does not matter. However, if you are put into Sm, you can legally put in a Hewland, and that would be Badass! But then you can't drive it on the street...which I know is a big thing with your cars project, with al those street races/rallies. If you look at the current supermod cars, I think only a couple are going to be runng in the country this year, and usually they don't win. Maybe because they are usually high strung motors and they are run by amatuer teams, or the drivers cant get the full potential out of them, but they cannot be kept running upto thier potential and they have problems. I just looked over the 2003 bmwcca results, and there was only like one (maybe 2) exceptions where a Sm/Bm car was the fastest, and those were extenuating circumstancesfrom what it looks like. Overall the fastest guys are CM. I only know of and see a couple guys on the lists for SM/BM, a couple F and E mod guys, but they were far down the list. I guess to win the races CM is the class to go lol |

![]() Whos Ron-man? Also, it depends on which region really, because in some regions there are not any competitive Cm/Dm cars, so its mostly prep and stock classes. Those are fun classes because of all the competition....nothing worse then racing against yourself But there are guys with speed demands and want to go to a higher class just for the faster car, but thats only good if you got fast competition. Northeast has quite a few fast Cm's, and a bunch of DM as well. In other regions there are a bunch of guys in prep cars that are always in the top bunch, mostly because they are good drivers, and thier competition is small (size not skill). Decent example is the 03 midohio race. http://bmwccaclubracing.com/2003%20S...03_mo_fall.pdf Top 10 in both races are obviously majority Cm/Dm, and a couple second gap between the fastest lap times from the cm to prep cars. Its really all over the place in some races, I guess its "ya never know" kind of deal at many bmwcca races. Last edited by LITEWAITM3 : 02-26-2004 at 08:28 PM. |

| Ron-Man is Ron Checca ( s14 engine guru). His new D mod is serious from the pics I've seen. Dado I'm pretty sure they will class you in BM. There are not many Bmod cars out there and the ones that are will be nowhere near as fast as your car because most A& B mod cars are based on much older machines with big displacement motors like, bavarias, e28 M5s and such. Your biggest comp will be the CM guys. If you keep the boost low and sandbag down the straights for a race or two maybe you can get moved down to CM Here on the east coast there are some qucik CM cars so you will have your hands full trying to keep up. Don't be surprised if a Black IP car keeps you busy too![]()

| Oh yea, I met Ron at Limerock once I believe, back when he had that red E30, not sure if he has the same one still. Yea, isn't running a pretty high strung motor on the E30? That thing is going to be intense! Qwick, did you make any notable differences to your car for this year, or just some tweaks here and there? Should be an exciting season with segal, sofronas, stickley, and the rest of the experienced guys going at the same time. I hope Sofronas and watts can make it to some northeast races, Watts's car might be too quick ![]() Only guy I found in BM was Mike Bonasera (e36). Dado, maybe you should just get an NA race engine built so you can be try to be competitive in CM...its a lot more fun racing against people ![]() At 2003 LRP race, itlooks like the Cm guys wereall made into BM for some reason, don't know what happened there: http://bmwccaclubracing.com/2003%20S...lts/03_LRP.pdf Last edited by LITEWAITM3 : 02-27-2004 at 10:43 AM. |
