Formula BMW Debuts in US in 2004

Hey guys,

I was wondering if any of you watched Wind Tunnel on Tuesday night. Dave had a rep. from BMW USA on to promote Formula BMW in the United States. The series is for persons age 16-23 and is suppose to be a feeder series to Formula 3000 and maybe even F1!! They showed a pic of the car (a cool $85,000) and it looks like a mini F1. I really wanna get some more specs on the car. All I know thus far is that is motor is 140bhp and the carbon-fiber chassis uses design cues from the BMW F1 cars. This is the only useful link I found.

I wonder who's going to be running the teams? Will it be run like the SKip Barber Pro series, or will it be fully independent teams?

Its sounds kinda like the redbull challenge. Except for the part that the rebull challenge was just trying to get an american into any f1 car, not bmw in specific.
