one autoX on kumho victoracers

today i had an autoX with my brand new Kumho Victoracers, i had a co-driver so they got a lot of action and i didnt heat cycle or shave prior to use and one of tire got lots of wear is this normal

here is a pic of my front left tire (there were lots of right turns)

wow, I'd say they needed heat cycled before the autox. I'm not expert but those look beaten. I've seen a few victo's and most seem pretty smooth except for on hot concrete courses.

I see the outside of the tire is cooked, but the inside is fine. Did you encounter a lot of understeer? Camber plates will help, but you might be overdriving the car.

They don't have all that much tread brand new, but I think you should still see some tread after just 1 autox.

How many runs did you get?

they got a total of ten runs on them, and it did feel to understeer quite a bit on the sweepers

The understeer ground off the edges, and maybe tire pressure had something to do with it understeering. You should be running 38-40 psi cold at an auto-x with that tire on that car.

The car has a stock suspension or modded? I had stock and 40 all around worked well. WHen I went to a turner JS setup 38psi worked better.

If you want to balance out the car try changing tire pressure till the rear tires loose some grip and the front sticks more.

Sometimes understter is attributed to too much throttle in the turns. Remember slow in fast out is quicker in Auto-x.

BTW: I swap slicks front to back every event, it evens them out. The heat cycling does help longevity too.(For the next set)

i have H&R Sports springs and Bilstein Sport shocks

is there anything wrong running this tire some more

They look fine! I'll post mine after 300 track mi! You may want to rotate them and always put the best tire where it will get the most abuse.

Did you heat cycle them at all? You should drive them around for 20min, then take em off and let them set for 48hrs.
