Well the Time has come...MY First SCCA Event! So, this saturday I'll be participating in my first SCCA Auto-X. Solo2. STS class since I've got a custom intake and such. I'm not sure what to expect. A little nervous, but VERY excited about this all. Anyone have any tips or pointers? Here's the event: http://www.myautoevents.com/pls/mae/...27602596168953 Wish me luck! I'll have pictures and videos up next week sometime... -Prince

good to hear Don't worry so much about being fast as about controlling the car. Keep your inputs smooth and don't forget that just because it feels fast doesn't mean it is. If you can, get a ride with somebody who knows what's going on. I remember the first time I checked out an autox. I just went to watch and ended up riding on the FTD in a 10AM Miata. It was a blast! ![]()

Well, day 1 is over. The fun events... Mainly, it was a coned course and everyone had five runs to finish as close to 60:00 as possible. The closer you got to 60:00 on the dot, the better "card" you got...you get 5 runs and whoever got the best "poker hand" won the event. Well, I came in 3rd. 1st was a Protege who used his CD player to time one minute. 2nd (and myself in 3rd) used the E30s onboard computer to time our one minute times. It was fun though! After that we had fun runs for best times. I started out at 49 seconds and ended the day at 44. There was a stock Mustang Cobra on slicks that was hitting 37 seconds. One of the event coordinators ran an STS '89 Civic with 5 people in it (including driver) to get 40 seconds flat. Talk about amazing driving!!! And my personal victory of the day was against a 2000 Firebird in the SM category. Had headers, stage 3 head, intake, came. Was probably putting around 350 to the ground. However...he couldn't drive FOR SHIT and ended up with 47 seconds as his best time all day (CONSTANTLY spinning his wheels throughout the course). So, for all you "I have to have insane HP" people...an E30 325e with an intake beat the Firebird by over 3 seconds on the course. Tomorrow is the points event. I'm sure to have way more fun (considering I now know a half-dozen people) since there's competition going on. I'll have more to update then. Wish me luck!!! -Prince
