Buying A Cooper S, Need a little Help......

Ok, well I came to the conclusion that my 1996 GMC Jimmy with 194,000 miles is on its last leg. So I was undecided on either a Cooper S or a 1.8T Rabbit (20th anniversary edition). I'm such a BMW Fanatic so I decided on the Cooper S to match my 2001 M-coupe. But here is my Question is it worth spending the extra $4,000-7,000 on the initial price tag with a JCW package or just buy a regular S and tuning it with M7 products. I have no plains on getting ride of the Mini. Please give me your opinions thanks

I would advise going for the Works package. I feel this package is the best engineered for the mini. Renowned BMW tuners such as Hartge, Hamann, and Dinan all offer their own performance packages but as many say, the JCW package gives you more peace of mind when it comes to warranties. You may be able to get more power out of aftermarket/ individual components but as with most any car, you may see reliability decrease and/or engine life shorten. The supercharged MINI is a great tuning platform... Best of luck finding a car if your still in the market!
