Get the Cooper S for sure! I think you might be surprised as to what it will make you think about driving and how much you care about it. This car is so much fun and has so much personality that it makes you care about things you never would have imagined before. Maybe that taking it a bit far, but it will help you to enjoy driving more than you did. I feel I can say this because I just let my friend (who doesn’t care about cars or driving nearly as much as I do) drive mine again the other night and he was ready to go right out and get a little fast, racy car so that we could go out and scream around town together. He also drives a 4 Runner, which is why I made the comparison and it makes sense that you wouldn’t care too much about driving or the like because your car doesn’t let you feel the road or the turns. When you have a vehicle that is just for transportation and convenience, then the drive isn’t nearly as enjoyable. Although, it also helped (getting my friend passionate for driving) that I had just shown him some of the crazy crap they do on those Mischief documentaries. By the way, Dado (uh…your husband apparently) is my frikin’ hero because he is such an insanely - and insane - good driver. How is your insurance, and do you drive with him often, because I would think that every ride would be a helluva journey, not to mention a close call, “meet your maker” kind of experience. Has he even gotten his license back yet? Anyways, I would like to further my point that you could turn into a driver-lover by giving an example of an unlikely person who this car has seemed to change, as far as I can tell and stereotypes do play into that, I know.
- I pulled up to a fellow Cooper S when waiting at a light today. I got into the right lane so that I could get in front of the lead car because the lanes were merging and because I have been driving like a jerk lately. In my defense, there was a long line of cars (2 or 3) that I would have had to wait behind and there was a really fun turn coming up that I didn’t want them to ruin for me. I notice that it is a fellow Cooper S and glance over to see who’s driving. When I see that it is a middle-aged woman , maybe 35-40 years old, I abandon any thoughts of me needing to speed in front of her to make it, which could have been bad because I might have trouble trying to beat my exact same car with enough room to get safely in front of her, meaning more than a car length which means superior driving skills (I don‘t think I have those

). Now, as the light turns green I can’t help but notice that she peals out and then that her engine is screaming at me just as mine is screaming at her. We both chirp it in second and I’m guessing she slowed down to let me ahead because I made it safely in front of her (or maybe I do have those superior driving skills

). We both had big dumb grins on our faces and fully enjoyed the turn that was awaiting us, so I figured that it just must be the car. It has a way of bringing the best out of us (mini owners), or the worst depending on your perspective on the whole thing. Sorry it took me so long to get my point across, but I feel that it is an important issue. So, yeah…I suggest you get a Cooper S, but that’s only my opinion. Why don’t we see what others think on that?
