Hood Scoop, What you think?

Well I need a bigger Hood Scoop because of the Air to air intercooler (don't want to go into detail, its a secret, but lets just say that 1 bov is nice but 2 is better :P). Wanted to know what you guyz though, the first link is some pictures, the sec you have to go to catalogue and then BMW and then Mini to see pictures of it.

Doesnt look like it would provide MORE air... but it could possibly provide tubing for air to the intake.... hmmm....

....and whats this about a bov?

Don't want to say yet, but everything should be done in May, I will have Movie's and Pictures to follow. Don't worry DDD soon as its done, I will come out with it all. Thanks for the feedback, the hood scoop is coming from France, and it is ALOT bigger then factor. Just need more air to the custom Larger Intercooler.

Everything is under wraps right now, but soon very soon, I hope in MAY it shall be done, Still waiting on one Company to do there part and thats it.

I like the look of that hood scoop, it realy fits the body well with all the round curves on the Mini.

Well my hood scoop came in, after a month of waiting. Now I have to wait for a little before I can put it on because of the custom bigger intercooler, but here are the pictures of the hood scoop right out of the box. Enjoy

Did you ship it from France? Do you mind me asking how much the shipping was? I want to import some body parts for my mini from japan...so just trying to get a bearing on prices

Thanks CheX, I hope so too. Well I paid 8.25% on out of the country tax, but I only paid 10.00 for shipping & handling because I bought from a retailer in the US. He had to order the part from France, then have it shipped to him, then shipped it to me. So he probable just marked up the product price. Sorry I could not be any more help.

Please post some pics up of the car with the hoop scoop on it, i really would like to see it...That grill they come with looks nice, it's like the icing on the cake.

The biggest issue with the air to air cooler is the layout. It mounts on top of the engine so it's prone to engine bay heat-soak. I'm sure we all know that by now...At slow speeds it's most noticeable.

The other issue with the OE system is the amount of plumbing. I measured about five feet of plumbing from intake to engine on my S. The pressure losses are significant.

A larger air scoop is definitely an improvement but unfortunately it may only improve airflow when it is needed least: at high speeds. Will you measure the effectiveness of the upgrade? if so, how will you quantify your numbers?
