That light bar is awesome!!... I know I would get pulled over for not having the cover on those things though. I am sure they are for 'off-road' use kinda like on trucks.

My girl had them installed on her Mini. She didn't have stripes though, and they looked great I thought. I guess it all depends on how busy you want the front of your car to look. She drove around without the covers on them without any flack from the police, and never had any damage from rocks or chips. I would say contact Skip@pftfilms.com to get some sort of 3M protection on them though.
