| Cool.. found this info here http://bridger.us/mini/ --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 2005 MINI Xenon Lighting System in Detail 2/17/2004 :: 13 Comments In a continuing effort to bring you more information about the new MINI Cabrio over the next several days we're going to be delving into detail about some of the new features (both standard and optional), new markets the car is aimed at, and simply what makes it the MINI Cabrio. Since posting about the new HID Xenon headlights (seen in this photo) I've had lots of people ask, among other things, if they also turn with the steering wheel similar to BMWs current line of Xenons. To help shed some light on the questions here's some further detailed information straight from MINI: "The new headlights in clear glass serve not only to provide even better vision and clearer light, but also underline the striking character of the car. The optional xenon headlight units with automatic headlight range control are encompassed by an additional ring of light spots again giving this exceptional car another sign of distinction." It's unclear whether "automatic range control" is new term for the old self leveling system currently on MINIs or if it's something involving the BMW adaptive lighting which swivels depending on the angle of the front wheels. Regarding the "ring of light spots" I can only assume this is, in some way, similar to BMW's angel eyes lighting system currently seen on the 5 series, X5, 6 series, and 7 series. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This page has some incredible pics on the 2005 model!! http://bridger.us/mini/cabrio/pages/conv_3_1600.htm ![]() Last edited by carenthusiast : 02-23-2004 at 07:55 PM. |
