Awesome! How are you liking the S versus the standard Cooper?

I have never driven a Cooper... just the S.

I actually really liked the way the Cooper drove in the 1st-3rd gears but it struggled a bit in the high speed pass capacity. I like the gearing that the 6speed provides, it would be really interesting to see what would happen to the Cooper if they used some closer gearing. In the S I feel like the suspension is too soft (damn, guess I have to change it) and I think this is a result of the extra ponies that propel me into corners much faster than I could get going in the Cooper.

Both are great cars and for the price/performance they are tough to beat. I was considering an Anniversary GTI but am glad I chose and happier with the S.

Sweeeeeet!

Recently, BMW changed the suspension on the sport + suspension (which is std. on the S) to make it softer. I don't know when they changed it, however, so you may or may not be affected.

I felt the exact same way about the Cooper. If I wanted to pass a car, I had to build up a head of steam to make it by.

Congrats on the new car!

the S is awesome, I am thinking I want a bit more power out of it, but trying to stick to my No Mods rule for the thing for a while atleast.

Almost want to say I like driving the MINI better than the M3... Pros and Cons to it but it is one tough car to beat. Love the handling, the supercharger pull (lol, lack of low end) and the 6speed box.

Ha ha ha... looks like you feel the same way I do.

That lag off the line especially on hot days can be frustrating. I have been trying to figure out the best RPM to launch at for a while now.

Did you get the extended warranty on yours? That is the only thing keeping me from modding mine, besides never having enough money that is

It is very tempting to do some little things however, like a drop in K&N filter and perhaps an exhaust. We will see though... one of these days seeing TomM's car is going to drive me insane and I will be ordering a suspension for it

Same here.

The Coop is a great daily driver.

Very fun car to drive.

When I get back in the M - it's time to hold on!
