Twin-Screw SC for the MCS

http://www.minicooperonline.com/modu...topic=16409&48

Finally pictures and specifics...

M7 Speed Inc. is proud to announce the newest development in a line of innovative products to be released over the next few months.

The Autorotor Supercharger from Sweden will soon be available for the Mini, exclusively through M7 Speed and Mini Mania. This twin screw SC feaures fantastic specs. With capacity to put out 21 psi of boost with a 57mm pulley, this SC will easily generate 300+ hp.

The system we designed has a new intake manifold with a built-in air to water intercooler system, which significantly lowers the already low charge air even more.

The cooling sytem is another M7 innovation--which utilizes parts of the car to cool down the coolant (water) without the need for extraneous water reservoirs in the trunk or under the car.

As the new SC does not have a waterpump attached, we are utilizing an
electric water pump with a control unit that will sense the temp and adjust
the flow accordingly.

All fastening hardware in the kit are grade 10 or better and the CNC machined brackets are anodized 6061 aluminum. Replacement hoses
are silicone with stainless or anodized fittings.

To compensate for the higher fuel consumption, larger 520cc injectors
have been added to the kit. To control the fuel mapping, M7 is using
a piggyback fuel enrichment computer.

The unit will be C.A.R.B certified and as such will also be available for California Mini Cooper owners.

Price: approx $ 5600.00
Warranty: 1 year
Availability: approx. 4 week lead

Look for more innovative products coming soon from M7 Speed.

Peter is saying that you can buy smaller/larger pulleys to get within a range of HP you are aiming for. Each would cost about 100 bucks. I'm guessing you'll need a new clutch/flywheel to go with the added power, and I wouldn't be surprised to hear of broken driveshafts, as one person with 240 has already broken one. Who knows though, lots of talk, and very little doing going on in the MINI world. People also are saying stuff like the gearbox isn't meant for more than 250hp but as I said, lots of talking and not enough doing.

There is also a larger intercooler available which looks really nice. I'm waiting for a better designed water sprayer on it then I'm plunking down the 900 bucks for it. The core is from PWR and a company called Alta Mini Performance makes the CNC machined ends.

Dave, you know you wanna mod your car at least a LITTLE bit. With the stuff I have on it now it absolutely flies. Thanks for the complement on the car.

Tom

Well... payments on the car are the priority right now.

No job = no mods

Believe me when I say that I want to mod the car.... I got smoked by my sisters Mitsubishi Galant V6 auto the other day. It was sad.

First thing to go... the heavy ass Pirelli run-flats. I HATE these tires!!

But yeah... I agree with you on the lots of talking, not enough doing. It will be interesting to see what comes up.

I am on Dunlap RunFats and I hate em too... only thing they are good for is adding to the dramatic effect when taking turns at high speed, all 4 are pretty quick to scream

well the only real problem i can see with this kit is the potential to break drivelines and gearboxes but who said that with tons of power doesn't come some broken parts? and good bye warranty. has there been any real testing of this supercharger to know if it will break things like that? but other then that i bet a 300whp mini would be insane and a blast to drive

Come to the MINI side...haha.

300 hp, I would imagine that would have to add some torque steer to the car right? With that much power, you'd almost certainly need a diff to keep all that power on the ground.

And on the topic of runflats...I don't really know anyone who loves them. I took mine off 6 months ago and still nobody is willing to get them off my hands. I have the back pair just sitting in the garage taking up space. What a waste of 400 bucks. Oh well.
