Check Engine Light Scan Tool

Does anyone in the Baltimore area or father, have a scan tool so that I can find out why my check engine light is on? I don't want to borrow it, I will drive to you whenever your free to use it. Thanks anyway if you don't?

I have that problem too. WHen I got it read they said there is nothing wrong no codes or anything reset it and then it comes back on in about 3 days...

Check out pocketlogger.com . The sell what is called and OBDII pocketlogger. I bought the software and the cable for my Palm Pilot. It is super easy to use and will let you reset check engine lights, view numerous items on the car (timing, throttle position, O2 sensor voltage, coolant temp, etc.) and you can datalog as well. Definatly worth the price (cost me less than $120) versus just a regular code reader.

My car is OBD1, do you know if it will still work with a '95 M3.

Advanced Auto parts lets you borrow scan tools free of charge as a encouragement to buy whatever you need to fix from them... you just have to leave your license as a deposit. I'm pretty sure it was advanced auto that i did this but you might want to call and ask first

Nope it only works on OBDII. The OBD1 tool they sell is for Mitsu DSM only.
