| First-time BMW Owner
Hello everyone, I am new not only to these forums but also to BMW ownership having just bought a 1996 E36 M3 Evolution last week.
I was actually intent on acquiring an FD3S RX-7 but recalling the fun times I have had riding in my friends' E36 and E46 M3s, common sense shone through and resulted in me possessing a much better handling, faster and classier car - not to mention with more space for passengers and luggage. Also I am still shocked at price I bargained the car down to: AUD $19000. Luckily for me, the previous owner had fastidiously maintained it and is on call should I ever need his advice or opinion concerning his former pride and joy.
This is the best vehicle I have ever owned to date, and therefore still timid about driving it hard although I stretch its legs every now and then. My next goals are to just restore it to its former glory (re-upholstering the leather seats and other interior details) then perhaps after following suggestions from a friend, install minor modifications; specifically a chip and Remus exhaust. The final touch would be a bodykit to enhance the width slightly and upgrade the rims.
I look forward to conversing with fellow forum users and hopefully learning a great deal more about BMWs.  |
