5 series audio

Hey guys. I wanted to install my sony xplode stereo into my grandpa's 98 528 but the guy said it wouldn't sound good because of something about the 5ers amps and stock stereo system. Was he right? Also, i'm not sure if it is prewired for a stereo or cd changer, it doesn't have one, but would the cd changer out of my 96 328ic work in his 5 series? thanks
