| AA Turbo kit for a E34 525i????? Hey, Was craving some power (as always with my pig), and I started thinking. Since the E36 325 came with the M50 engine (exactly the same as my 525i), do you think that the active autowerke turbo kit would fit into my car? I have a lot more space in the bay for a turbo kit, so I don't see any problems now. Maybe some of you turbo pros can help me out as to any internal problems that might occur from this. If anyone has a contact down there or knows a lot about their turbo charging systems, would you help me out here. It would be very sweet to see an E34 become a turbo'd monster! | Did you find out anything? I got the M50 engine too and are looking to see if there's any turbo kit for it. But I'd rather have a supercharger. I ofcourse got the manual shift  But I guess it would be necessary to switch the gearbox and clutch if the bhp goes above 200 (?). Sweet to put in a 6 speed M3 box or does the M5 have 6 speed too? I guess I should know, but I don't. I guess it does.But I guess it's ALOT of work putting a turbo or supercharger in, right? Maybe I should just buy a 540i or M5 with green license plates (two seats and not that many crazy taxes because they are used as "Transporters", only touring...if you didnt already know of the crazy system in Norway. But not anymore.) Sorry to find this thread so late. |

| I inquired about this when I had my 92 525iT and they said they did not have a kit at the time. however they did put one on an E39, so my guess is they can fit one on an E34, just has never had the customer that was serious enough to need one. |

| your E34 525i has a M50, but it is the non-vanos M50... I had a '92 E36 with the M50 and ran into similar problems in regards to forced induction, I am 99% sure AA doesn't make anything for your motor, I do believe Korman makes a turbo for the non-vanos M50 though... |

| 93 and up 525's were vanos just like 325's though ESS makes a SC kit for non vanos 525's 300ish hp! |

| I know AA didn't make a turbo for the non-vanos m50 but I am 99% sure that they do now. Also, I am a dealer and AA does great business and has wonderful customer service. I have had problems with them but they fixed them immediately and since then have exceeded my every expectation. |

| What I did not mention was that I'm not that lucky to have the M50 2.5 litre engine. Only 2.0 litre  but with VANOS. So I definately need the power. ESS is located here in Norway, they might come up with something even though they haven't listed anything for the 2 litre M50 engine on their website. But still $5000 here in Norway for the kit and then I need to mount it too. I think I might look for a 525i, 535 or 540i. Then the payoff would be greater. 540i with supercharger would be fairly nice I'd say.. |
