Difference between 2001 540i M TECHNIC PACKAGE and NORMAL 540i SPORT?

Hi guys... does anyone know what the difference is between a 540i M TECHNIC car with the M package and the normal 540i Sport? Im going to buy one year 2001 but am not quite sure what the diffence is between them. Is the suspension on a M technic 540 way stiffer? Thanks
