what i really dont' like about jimmy besides that he makes fun of people and rips other people off with those crappy bulbs, is his cocky attitude. "look at my 500hp! dinan supercharged 540i sport at the track" "look at my 500hp! dinan supercharged 540i sport at the car wash" "here are more pictures of my 500hp! dinan supercharged 540i sport" "this is my 500hp! dinan supercharged 540i sport before i turned it into a 500hp! dinan supercharged 540i sport"

hmm, what kind of car do you have? how much power does it have? i think he is just compensating for something else that he lacks

BTW "look at my 192hp! non dinan NA M3 motorSPORT edition"

My definition of rice:

1) Any car that has had more money spent on it for show, than spent on it for go.

sorry if i misunderstanding first, is it mean that if someone who has a nice bimmer which doesnt have any performance part includes in your definition of rice? in other words, that maybe someone who doesnt like to play performance sh*t and just hookep up his car w/ accessories like body kits, audio system and so on is also rice... please accept my apology first if i explain it wrong ok??

and yeah... wat's jimmy's web???

Cars are about driving, not showing IMHO. Yes, if you're going to drop 10K on your car, I think it's rice to do it in the form of plastic. Now, a phat system in a car is completely, and I mean completely exempt from EVER being rice, but I do think that throwing on cat sucker bumpers and F1 wings to stock cars is ghetto. Why? Because the factory would have made them that way if the performance of the car was such that it required those aerodynamic mods. If you've pumped up your engine and suspension, then hell, you probably need a lot of that shit to help with performance.

I guess Dinan engrained their philosophy into my definition of rice. Aside from little dinky things like keychains, CF engine covers, and floormats, they don't make anything that does not first and foremost make your car PERFORM better.

So yes, IMHO, more money spent on show than go is rice. I don't care how good looking you think you've made your car. If you get your ass smoked in a race (You know, driving... not showing, which is what cars were made for?), how good are you really going to look?

Well dan since you seem to have his hand in your shorts:

"What makes these PREMIUM XENONS(TM) so unique is its ULTRA XENON GAS"

Sure looks to me that he is implying that the Xenon in his systems are using somehting others than Xenon, something he refers to as 'Ultra Xenon'.

And about the performance issue:

Sure looks to me like he's claiming to out perform the stock setup.

And finaly dan, the Noble Gasses (those occuping the right hand borded of the 92 elements table -you know the natural ones-) suffer from being extreamily stable and inert and thus have extream trouble entering higher energy states and thereby forming ionicly active isotopes thus all this BS about 'ultra' xenon is pure horse shit, He's offering the same damn Xenon Halide filament fired bulbs we can buy for much cheaper. Ever seen the new silverstar series from Osram? My oh my don't them seem way to close in output of ol'jimmies gear.

And by the way claiming it to be ultra xenon dosen't mean it is of higher quality, he's merely stating that his Xenon is special and different than the other type of Xenon -which ever that might be-.

Ok, I'm outta this one. Friends stick up for each other, and that's what I'm doing. Jimmy is really proud of his car, so he illustrates that on his site. Sorry if I offended anyone with my def. of rice, but that's just how I feel. As far as Jimmy's bulbs, they are at the high end of pricing for what they are. They are NOT the same thing as $15.00 bulbs. The filament in them is a higher quality, thinner guage wire that allows for a brighter burn. If 300 something people on Ebay gave him POSITIVE feedback after getting the bulbs, with only 1 negative 6 mos ago that was non-bulb related, I think you can consider that proof enough that the bulbs do what they say.

ok ok, really last one...

I don't think you can interpret what "Ultra xenon" means, since it's an ambiguous advertising term. He never states that the xenon in the bulbs is different than regular ol' xenon. If you infer that his bulbs are better than the stock xenon system from that picture, then more power to Jimmy. lol. I was there with a group of about 20 other guys at the *REAL* bimmerfest started by Jon Shafer in SB. We all agreed that from the front, Jimmy's bulbs look just as bright as the stock setup, however the light pattern on the road in front was no match. Furthermore, a stock xenon car with Jimmy's bulbs for the fogs was agreed to be the best looking setup.

I agree, the xenon in his bulbs does not ignite (Yes it's stable, until something like -oh- electricity, like that which comes from an arcing ballast ignites it) . Read my above description... His bulbs simply use a thinner and higher quality filament which gives a brighter burn. The use of Xenon is marketing my friend.

Ok, over and out.

Noble gasses are the gasses on the far right side of the periodic table, meaning they have a full outer electron shell. each element tries to emulate that full outer electron shell by either gaining electrons to fill the empty spots, or losing its outer shell. Then it becomes an Ion. It takes IMMENSE amounts of energies to make a noble gas lose its outer electrons, and for commercial purposes, it just isn't possible. Xenon gas found int he atmosphere is the same as the Xenon gas found in your BMW's lights and in some Honda lights. There is no difference between the gasses.

ok maybe the cars dont require such mods.. but they look good and in
the event of traveling over 120 then they do help.. so suck it
and as for the factory would of made it that way is bullshit because
they would put aftermarket companies out of business.... look at
porsche i work there in the design department we do our thing and
you still get 3rd party companies making pizza trays for our cars too
ok they have more power than a honda and all...

ok so somone puts a pizza tray wing on a porsche and its not rice
do it on a bmw and its rice? have a crack at this one ....
what i would call rice is someone with a car that requires such a
wing buying one considering you cant really go fast enough legally
anywhere to make use of it anyway so it all comes down to show factor

here yes, in the states no, we got unlimited speed autobahns
yes i love show cars and mine is a show car ... its got enough
go for me and thats what i like.. but if u have a car thats 500hp
with a wing and looks like shit just not to be called rice then that
is sad.

ahh this topic sucks.. everyone likes their own style.. race,
weight reduction, show, whatever..

Your car is not rice if the wing/airdam/etc. you put on it is justified by necessity. (sp?)
