245 40 17s on e34

I bought some style 19s for my e30 project car, but I want to put them on my e34 until I am ready for them on the e30. Will the 245s on the rear look bad? My car is not lowered. I know it will screw up my speedo a bit.

Can do, I am just waiting for my hubcentric rings to come from TireRack. I got the rims with tires for $860 delivered on ebay. The back tires are bald and need to be replaced, but the front Mich Pilot Sports are in great shape.

They will look sweet on the e34, but I really can't wait to put them on the e30.

My 5er is green w/ parchment. My damn landlord just whacked the crap out of my rear door with the rear door on her exporer. No pics of the 318 yet, I really need to get on it so I have good before pics. Pretty much all I have done so far is gutted the interior and accumulated a whole bunch of parts.

dont E30s use 4-lug hubs? This would not let you use your E30 rims on your E34. Did you do an M3 hub conversion?

Alan, yes e30s do use 4X100 bolt pattern. I have a complete M Roadster suspension going in, hence the 5X120. My 5 series will only have the style 19s until my e30 is ready for them.

bigandslow:

That combo looks great on your car. It's even the right color.

Gamite:
That is a good question and I don't have a straight forward answer. I am running 245 40 17 all around (255 40 17 when I wear out the 245s) on a non M3 e30. I am going to run PTG style fender flares on all 4 corners to cover my wheels. This will increase my front and rear track a bit. If the 20mm offset proves not to be ideal, I'll just stick the rims on my 525 and pick up others for my e30. It is a bit experimental at this point.

The offset for a E34 is differant, and if you have a E30 NON M car, they are 4lug not 5lug! It sounds like your 5 is a lot like mine! Here is a pic of what the tires look like on a 5........

My non m3 e30 actually is getting an M Roadster suspension on all 4 corners so it will be 5 lug. The e34 and e39 wheels do share the same offset, you just have to pick up the hubcentric rings because the e39 has a diff hu size. Great looking e34 by the way, it does look a lot like mine.

Yea, E39 and E34 have the same ofset but differant center bore. E30 and E34 do not have the same offset. E34s have more ofset usally 10-15mm for a 7x8 E30s will be 18-25.
A 245 tire will not fit a E30 unless you add fender flares and fender liners.
