head light / fogs problems e34

firist of all hello . my girl and i just got the 89 525i from her mom and the head lights will only come on if the fogs are on. if i turn off the fogs the head lights turn off. i cant just turn off the fogs . and the other day the head lights didnt come on at all . and then one fog went out. and had to drive homw with only one light. yes i have the best luck. if any of ya`ll have any ideas on what to do . please lt me know

I think its the headlight switch, your highbeams are supposed to switch off your fogs when they are enabled, I would assume that relay/ switch aspect of it has something to do wit it.
