Sulphur smell from exhaust

Hey long time member.. hardly post :S

I'm currently driving (for past 6months) an 525E e28, use to be mothers car. It's in pretty good condition as we've had it since new however just recently i've noticed that there is a sulphur (eggy) smelly coming out of the exhaust. I'm wondering if its because i'm accelerating too hard? Or there is a serious mechanical problem about to happen..

Sounds like somethings up with the cat converter. Could be clogged or melting.

eggy/sulfuric smell typically is a cat going bad
