Hey everyone, this is my first post on the site and just want to introduce myself. Im 19, from the Pacific Northwest, and just living life and seeing where it takes me. I have spent the last few months falling in love with BMWs. I have been looking for my first car (dont laugh at me, I dont even have my license yet) but I settled on a bmw, and to be honest I fell in love with the E30s, I have looked at so many and most were over priced for the condition or not even worth the deal. But I came across a 1978 BMW E12 that was only 300 dollars and needed ignition work. So I decided to pick it up. This is not only my first car, but my first project like this. The E12 needs everything pretty much, but I look at it as the option to make her my own. Me and my best friend are going to a car audio institute next year and we want to make custom cars our profession. So we have decided to test and hone our skills on a car made perfect out of the factory (BMWs, of course)

and make it our own. It will be a tribute to past and present, an old school car with all the BMW amenities and a huge modern twist.
So far we have this planned as follows:
Get her running, or do an engine swap from a new 5 or 7 series. (Some input?)

Do the bondo work on the dents and dings. Since the trunk is super screwd up and sticking sideways at an angle we have decided to remove EVERYTHING from the trunk and seal it to reduce the rattle from the huge system we are planning.
Complete fiberglass interior to match the exterior. I am thinking a silver and a purple theme.
Install some racing seats, and remove the back seat, do a fiberglass base for storage (no seats to compensate some of the weight gain) and cut the back plate between the trunk and cabin out and plexiglass it.
It came with some little 13" bbs rims, we intend to get those color matched to the car as well, and slap on some new rubber. I found the euro bumpers I am trying to get them now and then install those as well. Then we will get into performance and handling---- in this area I will take any and all suggestions and opinions. Advice is always well accepted with me
Alright I hope we all can get along and have some fun, hope to meet some of you and look forwarding to hearing what you all have to say.
