New (used) engine being installed. Question...

Hello all!

Just a quick question. My car (2000 540i 6 speed) has Dinan stage 2 Performance Engine Software with a CAI and the Dinan High Flow Throttle Body. My question is when the new engine (same 4.4 ltr engine) goes in, will it need to be re-tuned or should it pretty much be seemless with just swapping the engine?

my guess would be re tune cause your engine for one doesn't have the same amount of miles on it which means components internally are running different in laments terms and that alone would call for some type of recalibration not saying it wouldn't run cause it would but would it be optimized iz the question and in essence i would be thinking re tune for maximum power through out your power bands , think about it as m3 with cai upgarde with a confi chip for a m3 without cai, you see what im saying logically ,HEY but i could be wrong good luck BRO!

We just got a "new" (used, but new to our car) M62 put in my wife's 540iT because her original engine gave out. As far as I know there was no reflash of the Dinan software and the car ran great as soon as we picked it up.
