new member w/ questions

Hey guys I'm new to the site and new to BMWs. I am currently trying to sell my WRX and buy a used BMW. I was looking into a manual E34 87-95 5-series. Is there one that is better then the other? I've been told these years are bulletproof. I've also been told the V8s have problems, so I had been looking at the 535. If you guys could help me out a little and hopefully make my choice of car the best possible. Thanks.

Hi,
I would take the 525i 24V.
And the a1994, or 1995 model. This years are the facelift car.
It is looks better and fresher. The engine is one of the best.
192hp and the car needn't a lot of gas.
It is a very dynamic car.
My father had this car in black, with black leather and automatic.


The 535i needs a lot of oil and gas.

thanks a lot. i will have to see if it comes in manual though cause i cant bring myself to own an automatic ever again, haha.

the E34 V8 issue was related to the Nikasil blocks and possibly issues with the content of gas in the USA. They switched to a Alusil block and the issues were remedied.

I had a 1994 E34 530i in Manual, really really great car and I would buy one again in a second.

The 535 is a great car as well and the 6 cylinder is a wonderful engine.

cool thanks...is that something i need to check on with every 530 i look at or is it something they changed before producing them.
