| BMW 5 Series E60 Gearbox material. I was wondering what the gearbox is made out of in the E60 5 Series ? Can any provide a link? My dad wants to know....      |

| Are you looking for manual or automatic? I think both transmissions are made by two different manufacturers and there are probably some differences in materials used. -This is a link on tech specs for the ZF 6 speed automatic click here -The manual is a Getrag 217 I believe, but I can't find any information on that transmission
