Sunroof Tilt Problem

Hi all,
I have an 88' 535i with some issues on the sunroof. Recently, the tilt doesn't work. If I push up on the sunroof, it will tilt up while the button is pressed.
Is this a sign of a worn out track or cable? Thanks anyone
