if i were to bumper tuck my e28 by drilling the shock then compressing the bumper in, would that have an impact on insurance? if i were to get in a accident that is...

Umm...few words of advise...When you drill out the 'shocks', A) Watch your eyeballs...the fluid is pressurized. B) Make sure to weld or somehow secure the 'shocks' to thier new position. Otherwise they may be movable, and that's not cool. C) They don't always push right in after the drilling. They are old ass units, and they may need some 'motivation'...aka-BFH!

yea the car in my pic is just one i got off the internet but mine looks almost exactly like it, i got better rims tho. i hope the bumper tuck makes it look a bit better

Wait, before you do that take one not of advise. The DB bumpers you got on there now are made for 5mph crashes and if you do drill them out if you get into a crash the damage will go directly to the frame. And we all know (hopefully) that frame damage repair is not cheap or fun.

You could always install euro bumpers, but that requires some modification and is not the cheapest. You could go with BMP Design bumpers which are somewhat similar to mtechnic bumpers.

You cna get them imported or get some that people have for sale in the US, but the are very costly in good condition. About $1300 or so.

Yeah I wouldn't worry about the 5mph bumpers....the euro bumpers don't have 'shocks' either....and they do just fine in accidents. Besides....no disrespect intended, but 528e's are kind of a 'throw away' car. If you wreck it, pull all the fun parts, and buy another E28 to put them on, and ditch the car.

Actually Euro bumpers have a 3mph shock standard.
